The evening gown features silk organza fluting handsewn on in the shape of the female form and face atop a satin bodice. The gathered skirt is silk georgette and extends into a train.
Associates Capstone
During the final semester of my associate's program at the Fashion Institute of Technology, our fashion design class was tasked with creating a garment inspired by the theme of the FIT Museum exhibit, "Africa's Diaspora." I drew inspiration from African Cubism and its influence on Western art movements. My garment was one of the limited number of designs selected for display alongside the exhibit and at the 2025 COTERIE trade show.
